Volunteer »
Most people think of swinging a hammer when they think about volunteering for Habitat. But many other opportunities exist in planning and management that are suitable for volunteers younger than 16 and for families who wish to volunteer together. ... You don't need to be an expert in any of these fields to help out! There are many tasks that require only a willingness to learn and to work with others.
Listed below are some of the non-construction volunteer opportunities. Committees- Members for Committees —
We have many committees that often need assistance or new committee members. Please visit our Committees page for more information about each of our committees.
Office/Clerical/Teaching- Workshop Leaders —
Also needed are volunteers with extensive knowledge in plumbing, electrical, heating/venting, etc. that would be willing to teach staff and perhaps conduct monthly workshops. Contact the construction director for more details.
- Media, Newsletter, Press —
Anyone interested in writing for the newsletter, issuing press releases or contacting the local media may call or email Lydia Johnson, community relations director.
- Office Assistance —
We are always looking for volunteers to assist in mailings, answering the phone, and other general office activities. We also need a volunteer with Excel data entry experience to work from 1 to 5 p.m on an as-needed basis. Confidentiality is of utmost importance since the individual will be handling sensitive information. Contact Janette Prickette , assistant office manager, if you are interested.
