We are a Christian ecumenical ministry whose mission is to provide simple, decent and affordable housing to low-income families in Vanderburgh and Posey counties, Ind. These homes are sold and financed by the organization at no profit for 25 years and zero interest. We call our families our partners, because they must contribute 300 hours in sweat equity towards their home and the homes of their neighbors. The average house is sold for $58,000 with a mortgage payment of $275 per month, including escrow for taxes and insurance. Since its inception in 1984, Habitat for Humanity of Evansville has built nearly 350 homes.
