Sponsors » House Sponsorship »
When sponsors decide to make the commitment of “building” a house, they do so with the understanding that they are not alone. Habitat will walk them through the process, and experienced construction leaders will direct volunteers. Typically, a sponsor is responsible for providing financial support based on level of sponsorship, volunteer labor (if possible) and lunches for the volunteers at the construction site.
Once you have decided to become a sponsor and the Registration Form and Partnership Agreement have been completed, Habitat for Humanity of Evansville will do the following:
• Provide an HFHE representative to assist and guide your effort from start to finish
• Select and match a qualified family with each new home
• Provide a building site and advise the sponsor of the site address
• Provide appropriate recognition on house signage (this may be done additionally by the sponsor)
• Provide house plans and specifications
• Provide construction management and skilled core volunteers to oversee all construction
• Provide all permits and schedule inspections
• Coordinate and order all building materials for delivery on site at appropriate time
• Schedule meetings with Sponsor Team (Project Coordinator, Volunteer Coordinator, Lunch Crew Coordinator, Fundraising Coordinator, Crew Leaders, Publicity Coordinator) as needed.
• Provide first aid kits on work sites
• Provide tools and needed supplies
• Assist in public relations
• Assist in planning Dedication Ceremony
Sponsors agree to the following responsibilities:
• Provide agreed-upon amount of funding
• Provide construction volunteers as specified by HFHE (if possible)
• Follow the directions of HFHE Construction Manager
• Work side-by-side with partner families and other volunteers to bring about growth and enrichment in the lives of all
