Donors, sponsors recognized during annual dinner

Evansville, Indiana (October 14, 2009) – Donors, house sponsors and major in-kind contributors who have supported Habitat for Humanity of Evansville this year were honored during the annual Donor Recognition Dinner Oct. 13 at St. Mary’s Manor Auditorium. Plaques were given to recognize their contributions, and several families received certificates for their continued commitment to Habitat. (To see a list of all those honored, click here.)

Mike and Hope Staubitz received the Community Builder Award for Exceptional Civic Partnership for their support given through the Staubitz Charitable Trust, a trust created by Mike Staubitz’ late father, Arthur F. Staubitz. Seven Habitat homes, five in Evansville and two in Colorado, have been built with funds from this trust, the latest being the first Habitat home to be built in New Harmony.

“We truly have cause to give thanks to God and to all of you as we celebrate what all of us, by working together, have been able to accomplish,” said Steve Thomas, chairman of Habitat for Humanity of Evansville.

About 150 people attended the event.
