Credit Unions kick-off build

EVANSVILLE ( August 16, 2008) – Representatives from the Indiana Credit Union League and local Credit Unions kicked off their build today on a home that will go to a family displaced by a tornado that ripped through Evansville in 2005.

Nine local Credit Unions are sponsoring the Credit Union Build for Habitat for Humanity of Evansville and are building the home at the New Haven Subdivision on Evansville’s south-east side, where many families displaced by the tornado have relocated.

Credit unions were founded on the philosophy of “People Helping People,” and the Credit Union Build is another example of the good that can result when Credit Unions combine resources.

The following representatives attended the event:
• John McKenzie, President of the Indiana Credit Union League
• Several other employees of the Indiana Credit Union League, including Chris Beaumont, Vice President-Governmental Affairs, and Kay Neidlinger, Vice President-Communications.
• CEOs, Managers and other representatives from:
• Centurion Federal Credit Union
• Diamond Valley Federal Credit Union
• Dynamic Healthcare Employees Federal Credit Union
• Evansville Federal Credit Union
• Evansville Teachers Federal Credit Union
• Heritage Federal Credit Union
• Sterling United Federal Credit Union
• Toyota Federal Credit Union
• Representatives from Habitat for Humanity of Evansville
